Acts 3

Acts 3

by Jennie, age 20, from Sweden

FAITH

Take a moment and think about how big our God is. Look out on His creation through your window. Praise Him for his power and greatness. Thank Him for the beauty He has created for us.

Then think about this: Do you believe in miracles? Do you believe that God can do supernatural things?

Read Acts 3:1-26

Imagine yourself in Peter and John's shoes (v.1-8). What would you have done in their situation? What do you think gave them the courage and the faith to say what they did?

Go to v. 11-12. Why do you think the people were surprised? Would you be surprised if you saw something like that? Why do you think we are surprised when we see God work, why don't we expect more of it? Do you believe that God can do miracles today?

Why do you think it is so hard for us to believe that the creator of the universe can make a lame man walk again?

Go to Heb 13:8. Jesus is the same now as he was then. He doesn't change. He healed then, and he can heal now.

Go back to v.6. Do you think we sometimes rather give gold and silver? Why is that easier? Why do you think we sometimes are ashamed of what we have?

Think about the crippled man who was healed. Read v.4-5 again. The man didn't even look at the disciples, he felt so unworthy, so ashamed. He asked for money - he thought that was what he needed - but he got something else, something far better. What was his response (v.8)?

Peter and John knew that what they had was better than gold and silver. Do you know what you have? Do you know what power you have in you? Do you know how great our God is? Talk to God and ask Him to show you more of His greatness.

Read Psalm 89:1-13. Use the words to praise God for who He is. Ask Him to give you more faith, and to help you believe that He can do miracles today - and that he can use you to do it, just like he used Peter and John.
