Isaiah.Week#1

Day #1
Isaiah 1:1-2o
'willing + obedient' Vs. 'resist + rebel'

Read through the first 20 verses of the first chapter of Isaiah - make sure you read it slow enough to pick up all the good bits - maybe even read it through a second time.

How would you describe the way the Israelites were living?
Did you pick up in verse 2 that God was saying that He had raised the Israelites, they were like His children! How would you think it feels to watch your kids live the way the Israelites were living?

Look at verses 5 - 7. What was the result of the Israelites rebellion to themselves, and their country? Why do you think they didn't stop and turn back to God even when it was ruining them?

Read verses 10 through 15. Do you notice that instead of getting rid of the rebellion the Israelites were trying to compensate for it? What were they doing to make it up to God? How did God respond?

Read through verses 16 - 20 and think through them carefully - maybe even pray through them - what is it that God wants from you? And what are His promises?

Spend a few minutes just you and your Father. Lay it out for Him. Ask Him if there are areas of rebellion in your life.
Have you ever got it sorted out or does it still come up? Ask Him if you have hurt Him.

If He has pointed out areas that you have to get sorted make you sure you tell them to somebody, or you could end up just covering them up again.
