I don't really know what to write this week. I mean, I know what I want to write, but there's just no good way to write it. No way good enough.

Things so easily get big and fancy. You start out small, but as it grows you grow, until you're way up there looking down, giving directions. You're the leader. The founder. The One.

It's so easy to get busy in things - good things, necessary things.

We can go through a week, doing so many things, meeting so many people. But did we actually meet anyone? Did we stop long enough to actually meet someone?

This thursday I went down to Moms day out with the couple who runs street church. They do many things, they work with a lot of people. It could easily get big.

But it's not. At least not in that way.

What they do is big. The impact they have on peoples lives is big.

But they are not.

Every tuesday and thursday morning they get their van and drive around town to pick up the kids who go to Mom's day out. The car is full of car seats, and one by one they pick up the kids. They talk to them,  joke with them, listen to them. And then in the afternoon they come pick them up again, and drive them home.

This particular morning they had a little baby boy with them. He stays at their house at the moment, until he can go back to his family or they can find a family who can take care of him.

Last wednesday we went to a ministry outside of town called Youth Reach. It's a place where guys in trouble can come and get help. A lot of them are criminal, and this is their last chance before jail. We met the founder who shared the story and the plans, and showed us around. It is an amazing ministry. It can easily get big. In fact, it probably will; God seems to have big plans for it.

But the workers won't get big.

They have seven guys living there at the moment. Seven guys they pour their lives into. Seven guys they fight for, fight with, to get them back up on their feet. When we were there they kept telling us stories about guys who had been there, guys they still keep in contact with, guys who are now doing well.

Guys who are now walking with the Lord.

One changed life is enough.

That's how they do it; one life at a time.

It's not big, it's not fancy.

It's just one person - one baby, one young man, one young mom - at a time.
